Mack Truck 1907 an Punctual Precusor of Semi-Trailers Tugged by Mack Vestiges

Although they began building wagons and carriages in the early 1890’s, the three Mack brothers saw a need and soon expanded their business. The three Mack brothers, in 1900, produced a 20-passenger bus powered by a 40 hp engine when they opened their truck production plant.

In 1904 the company was manufacturing heavy-duty trucks known as “Manhattans,” and the Mack Truck 1907 was soon to follow.

The assembly kit available online, 38 pieces in all, weighs much less than the original seven-ton truck. Twenty-five of those pieces are tan plastic, while the remaining 13 pieces are chrome-plated parts. Assembly is said to be simple and straightforward. It’s important not to glue pieces into place before various parts have been painted.

In 1990, Renault purchased the Mack Company, making it a wholly owned subsidiary of Renault. One decade after the Mack Company was purchased by Renault, the company was purchased from Renault by AB Volvo of Sweden.
